exactly what command did you run?imsimta is not a command by itself. You need to run something else, such as:imsimta versionIn fact, that would be a good thing to run, and show those results, here.

Yes, well, um, Dirsync is no longer in the product. Why were you running it?

In Iplanet 5.2 when a change in Directory 5.2 is made I ran imsimta dirsync -F to changes take eftect, now this command doesn't work, in fact I use Messaging 6.2, I create a users on Directory 5.2, but when a try to sing an email user over web a message tell that the password is incorrecto or the mail box is in other server. I think the problem is imsimta dirsync -F because the changes doesn't take effect.

Um, not.Dirsync was replaced in 5.2 with Direct LDAP. You should have turned it on.Dirsync is no longer part of the product. If your users on 6.2 can't connect/log in, then you have mis-created the users. How did you create the users?

I create the users under the tree

SOLARIS-PRUEBAS-tecmarketing.com

--dc=tecmarketing.com,dc=com

--tecmarketing.com

--People

Likewise I was working with Messaging 5.2 I create the users unde the tree, but I found that in the previous version the stored path was /store/data/partition/primay and it was created automatically, but not now in 6.2 just until /store/data besides the path is especified on Messaging configuration.

How did you create the users?

I create the users under the tree

not really an answer, is it?

Messaging 6.2 requires more attributes than 5.2. Also, you don't say if you chose Schema 1 or Schema 2 when you installed, and you specifically did not answer my question.l

I still suspect you mis-created the users.

Dirsync has nothing to do with 6.2.

I was reading manuals and I saw that note in Messaging Server 6.2 Adminstrator Guide:

Managing Mail users.

****You must also install a mail account for that user; if you do not install the mail account, the mail-administration portion of Console is not available for that user.

This is what happen to me. I dont see the Mail Account tab available.

This is the problem I have really.

What can I do?

Well, I asked you twice, "how did you create the user". You have yet to answer. This makes it very much harder for me to help you.

I'm going to guess you created the user in the Console.

The Console is not able to create users that will function for Messaging Server.

If you selected to install with Schema 1, then you need to install the old iPlanet Delegated Admin 1.2p2, available for download.

If you selected to install with Schema 2, then you can install and use the Delegated Admin provided with Messaging Server, or use the comm-admin command also provided with Messaging Server.

These are the only SUPPORTED methods for managing users.

I'm sorry, I used Schema 1 to install, and now I am installing Delegatedadminstrator, and is correct, i used to create users on console, like i used to create on Messaging 5.2.

It was very difficult to create users with theConsole back in 5.2 days. I was never able to do so.Please do create users with iDA, and see if that works for you.Your problem has nothing to do with Dirsync, and everything to do with improper user creation.
