I had the same problem. Editing the hosts file didn't help. I got it to work with the following steps:
1. Right-click My Computer and select properties
2. Select the Network Information tab
3. Click the Properties button
4. In the Identification Changes dialog click the More button
5. Enter something in the "Primary DNS suffix of this computer" text box.
I am trying to install JES 05Q1 on windows 2000, but i could not install it. i am getting the error message like "System does not have Fully Qualified Domain Name. Setup fully Qualified domain Name and then continue installation"
I checked with host file it has FQDN in it and Primary DNS Suffix also entered.
Do help me to sort out this problem.
hi.
i have had that problem. But i get the problem to work.
I had a network computer named ANYONE. (That Network does'nt have a server).
I wrote somethings (eg. SOMEONE) to "Primary DNS suffix of this computer" property in My Computer->NetworkInformation->.... (win2000Pro.)
then my computer has FQDN like ANYONE.SOMEONE.
But setup didnt work again.
And Eventually i changed what i wrote before in "Primary DNS suffix of this computer" (SOMEONE) with SOMEONE.COM.
And then FQDN was ANYONE.SOMEONE.COM
Then When i start installation i passed the problem named "System does not have Fully Qualified Domain Name. Setup fully Qualified domain Name and then continue installation"
I hope it works to you
Hi,
I would like to know if it is possible to install the Java Enterprise system for Evaluation on a Windows XP machine.
I don't see how to get around the error: System doesn't have Fully Qualified Domain Name. Setup Fully Qualified Domain Name and then Continue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
