Price and Licensing
I'm completely confused about the cost of and licensing issues for the Solaris Enterprise System, including the JES portions.
A couple of graphics and a few other places on this site state that one may download and use it "at no cost". Does that mean everything is free? Solaris 10, JES, Sun Secure Global Desktop, Sun Java Identity Management Suite, etc.?

... just scroll down about 5 or 6 postings, or use the forum search function.
It's already been discussed:

Sun has made it's Solaris Enterprise System portfolio (Solaris Operating System, Java Enterprise System, N1 software, Desktop Infrastructure software, and Development Tools) available to developers and deployers at no cost.
Customers can now evaluate, develop, and deploy Sun software either unsupported or with assurance. Experience shows that enterprise customers running mission-critical applications in complex enterprises require assistance in architecting, implementing, and supporting their environments and will therefore pay for services and assurance.
Supported: Customers get the benefits of a supported product by purchasing a support entitlement in one of four ways: Java ES subscription, Java System Suite subscription, point product license and support agreement, Solaris Service Plan. (Support is not available without purchasing one of these options.)
Unsupported: Customers who do not want to initially pay for support entitlement or no longer require support, updates, patches, upgrades, and software warranties may choose to run the software with no assurances from Sun.
