howto install solaris with broken cdrom?

I my professor pulled out an old sun4u (enterprise 5000) out of the basement a few months ago and assigned me and another student to revive the machine. We could not get the computer to boot from the cdrom, even though we can access it in linux. We were able to install gentoo linux via TFTP boot, however we want solaris on it. I downloaded the sparc64 solaris install CD but open boot will not boot off the cdrom. The scsi id is 6 and open boot is trying to boot of of slice :f (which I think is right, I could not find official documentation). I tried googleing TFTP image for solaris but I could not find any. If someone could tell me how to get solaris onto that machine I would really like that. Thanks

Hi,what is the output of nvalias command (ran from Open Boot PROM ok> prompt)?Do you strictly need to install Solaris over the network?Peter

Sorry for Responding late. I can get you the output of that, but the cdrom has the scsi ID of 6 and it want to boot from slice :f. Perhaps Im not burning the cd correctly from my computer.
