does raid5 in disksuites need state database replicas?

Per sun's doc, when we create mirror, stripe/concat objects, we need to create state database replicas, but when create raid5, the doc does not mention that we need create state database repicas at first, also, mirror, stripe/concat objects use slice, but raid5 use the whold disk.

I wonder whether does raid5 in disksuites need state database replicas?
