Solstice X.25 9.1 vs Sunlink X.25

Hello, all!

Maybe this is an offtopic, but I did not find forums covering my question.

I want to know, what difference is between Solstice X.25 and Sunlink X.25. As I read @docs.sun.com, they are almost the same thing. I want to know, are they compatible at all and, in particular, at X.25 level (layer 3) for creating applications. Is there any reason to buy one and not another?

Please, I would like to know the answer too. Because I need to develop an Interfase between two applications using X.25 as the transport protocol. Thank you.

Sunlink was earlier name for the X.25 software.

http://www.sun.com/products-n-solutions/software/

Please follow the link above. You will only find now a single selection under the name "X.25" which will take you to a Solstice

X.25 9.1 Product description page.

The following release history shows when the switch from Sunlink to Solstice occured.

Solstice X.25 9.1 (released 03/97)

Solstice X.25 9.0 (released 9/95)

Sunlink X.25 8.0.2 (released 10/94)

Sunlink X.25 7.0

If still there is any confusion please do not hesitate to answer to my response. Of course a Sales person could always give you the latest list of Softwaree that we sell.

Thanks

Sujeet

Hello;

I use for the first time the stack Solstice X.25 and I have need for assistance. I have a Sun (Solaris) serveur with a HSI Card and Solstice X25. This serveur must to send of the data via X25 network another server (linux).

Q1 : how How I must use Solstice for sending the data ?

Q2 : I must realise in the same thread (in C++) the implemantation of the levels 4 et 5 (transport and session). Its possible a API Solstice interface with C++ object (Call C++ fonction) ?

Q3 : I use the buffer notion for storing the X25 msgs, have you another better solution ?

Thank you

Djamel

Hi ,

We're having problems installling Sunlink 9.0 on a Solaris 8 system with no zsh device available...

Instead a se_hdlc device is there, but the installation still tries to link the x5device to zsh

It seems that Sunlink 9.0 doesn't support the new se_hdlc devices and I was wondering if this will be solved in Solstice X.25 9.2 ?

Thanx N advance,

Bas
