boot loops after fresh 10, 1/06 x64 install + update

after installing I ran the update manager, it seemed to die before it was finished, and the machine rebooted, and looped in booting. I'll try failsafe and if I get it grab any info requested

I'd recommend raising an OS case with Sun. There isnt much we can troubleshoot from a Update Connection/manager point of view if the host wont fully boot.
After the initial OS install did you install anything else before running update manager....and what did you select to do in Update Manager (ie. did you apply a lot of patches using update Manager?)
