I磛e got a machine runnig soalris 9, there is no way to connect it to Internet to update it online.
Whwn I use thesmpatch analyze command it shows a message telling me that patchdb.zip file is missing.
I磛e been searching everywhere on sun website but I haven't found where to download this file.
You could try to run smpatch on another machine which *is* connected to the Internet, and copy the files from /var/sadm/spool/cache/ to the machine without the Internet connection. No idea if this would work - AFAIK an Internet connection is a prerequisite to using smpatch.
If you don't mind trying an alternative, take a look at pca ( http://www.par.univie.ac.at/solaris/pca/ ). It was specifically designed to run on machines without Internet connections or only minimal packages installed.
