How re-register a system ?

Hi all,

I am under Solaris Express 03/06, and I want to update it to latest update.

I have registered my system, but when I launch smpath, I have got that :

# smpatch update

Acc鑣 aux patchs requis pour votre syst鑝e...

Failure: Cannot connect to retrieve detectors: Authentication failed due to bad credentials. You may need to re-register this system.

So, how re-register my system ?

Thanks

To reregister your system for Sun Update Connection on Solaris 10, please use the following command to delete the asset ID of the host before reregistering the system using the Update Manager GUI or the sconadm CLI.$ /usr/lib/cc-ccr/bin/ccr -r cns.assetid

I have try your command, and it work.

But I think I have got a bug with patchpro, because I have re-registered my system for 3 times, and each times he return me that :

# smpatch analyze

Acc鑣 aux patchs requis pour votre syst鑝e...

Failure: Cannot connect to retrieve detectors: Authentication failed due to bad credentials. You may need to re-register this system.

So, how update my system ? (I haven't got a solaris plans (I'm a student)).

Could you please check what version of Update Connection is currently installed?$ showrev -p | egrep -e '119107|121118|121453|119108|121119|121454'

From the empty patch list, it appears you do not have an officially released version of Update Connection installed. Could you please download Update Connect 1.0.1 from the the following location and install it;

http://www.sun.com/download/products.xml?id=42e02045

After installing it, it can then be updated to the current Update Connection 1.0.4 version.

I am really sorry, but I have forgot this post. (because I wasn't with my solaris computer for a long time).

I have installed Solaris Express 04/06, and I have got exactly the same problem (is it a really fresh install, without installed anything). And I cannot install the official version of update manager.

Dear Willits

It would appear that there is either something already installed that obsoletes the patch you are trying to add or the patch is incompatible.

Where did you get the ./installUpdateConnection and what sort of hardware are you installing on, as the patch mentioned is an x86 patch?

I have downloaded this updatemanager.

http://www.sun.com/download/products.xml?id=42e02045

The file whom I have downloaded is that :

updateConnection-i386.zip

I am on a x86 based computer (Pentium 4).

I want to notify that in Solaris Express 04/06, there is already an update manager installed.

(I can done this command : updatemanager)

Note : I have also tested with update manager 1.0.4, and I have got the same problem when I try to install it.

Dear WillitsWhen attempting with SUC 1.0.4 did you install over the top of the newly installed operating system , or did you first remove the existing SUC packages ?
