Incomplete patch installs do not refresh correctly

I am patching an Ultra-10 with the kitchen sink patches. I have always selected them all and it always installs every one successfully.

I finally had failures applying the patches 120824-02 and 120844-01. The following patches were successfully applied: 120537-03, 118370-04, 120661-02, 118929-03, 118822-19, 120198-03, 119689-04, 118553-04, 118925-01, 119715-04, 118981-01, 120064-01, 119828-03, 118927-02, 120052-01 and 120251-02. It is possible I have typos here.

When the machine comes back up it said that the patches (all of them) need to be applied. This time I only selected the successful ones. It deduced that these patches had already been applied.

The questions are:

Is the patch 120824-02/120844-01 appropriate for the Sun Ultra80 platform? Why didn't they install? They were on the list. Why didn't the results show that the remaining patches had been installed in the graphical menus?

Let me know if I need to supply text snapshots of squirrel-ed logs for the UpdateManager. For the interim, I will leave the patches 120824-02 and 120844-01 alone.

These two patches are only for the sun4v platform, not for sun4u. Regarding the list, are the other patches now being shown as installed?

Yes.The other patches only refreshed (saying they installed) when I tried the graphical actions to apply them again. It figured out that the patches were already there. Then the graphical displays updated to only show the two problematic patches.

I've seen the same issue..

> arch -k ; smpatch analyze

sun4u

120844-01 SunOS 5.10: platform/sun4v/kernel/drv/sparcv9/glvc patch

120824-02 SunOS 5.10: usr/platform/SUNW,Sun-Fire-T200/lib/libprtdiag_psr.so.1 Patch

As noted, these patches are for the sun4v platform and therefor cannot be installed. The issue seems to be that they appear in the list in the first place. These 2 seem to be the only sun4v patches listed in patchlist.delimited from Database/current.zip.

They are still working on it. The fix should be out at the latest with S10U1.
