Patch 119107-06

Who named the prepatch script prePatch in this one? In 10 years I've never seen one with a capital "P".

also recieved the following messages on 2 sol 10 boxes:Package SUNWswupcl from directory SUNWswupcl in patch 119107-06 is not installed on the system.Version of package SUNWdc from directory SUNWdc in patch 119107-06 differs from the package installed on the system.

I received the same messages. I installed it by first downloaded the patch graphically. Afterwards, I ran the command "smpatch add -i 119107-06". When it finished, it also stated a message saying that the SUNWpprou backout will not be compressed. I rebooted the machine with "init 6" and now when I click on the "check for updates" I get this message:

Read system analysis data error

There is an error in reading system analysis data. Click on "Check for Update" to restart a system analysis. If the problem persists, report the issue to your sysadmin or SUN.

My questions now are:

1. Did I install wrong?

2. Do I try to yank the patch and go back? I can see it in the installed patchsets

3. Is there a correction/fix/workaround

The host is currently patched to the max. I doubt that there are any more Solaris 10 patches to apply.

Please advise. I also have a support contract but I thought that this forum was the best forum to report this condition.

Can you check if the fault persists after removing patch 120543-01 (or 120544-01 on x86)?

I had exactly the same symptoms. And yes, removing 120543-01 fixes it.As its not obvious why apache should effect updatemanager, I presume its a mispackaged patch in some way...

Thanks for feed back. I tried to upgrade and there were patches so I tried again. The "Check for Updates" worked. More patches were applied.

When there were no more patches, I received the failure message again. I removed the patch 120543-01. When I run the actions again, I get no more failures. However, there is a patch called "120543-01" that could be applied again.

To me, it makes me wonder if the message is a red herring message that should say that you have absolutely no patches to apply. I think I saw a posting in another thread to this effect.

This is a known bug, ID #6309151The error you get when checking for updates is just informational and there is none doesn't impact on anything. It seems to be fixed in the latest Sun Update Connection, 1.0.1

Should we all upgrade to version 1.0.1? When will zone support be fixed?

Yes, we recommend everyone upgrades to 1.0.1. We do not know yet when there will be support for zones.

I'm still getting the warning even with all the latest patches.I only get it when I go direct to sun.If I use a local patch server, it runs cleanly.
