software registration via cli?

I have a headless box without X installed. Is there a way to register the system for patches without the gui?thanks

The only way to do so would be by using another system as proxy. You would have to register this other system via the GUI and use the Sun Update Connection Proxy to distribute the patches.

A cli process to register systems has been built and is in the process of making its way out as a patch. Patch ID's 120776 and 120777 will add this functionality . I expect the patches to be pushed out to the real world in the next week or two.

I use cygwin/X on my PC to do registrations until there's a cli. SSH in, remote display and run updatemanager. Not perfect, but it works.
