What version of Update Connection is this? Is it the Preview Release or the 1.0 release?

What is the output of these two commands?

(if sparc)

showrev -p | grep 119574

showrev -p | grep 119107

(if x86)

showrev -p | grep 119575

showrev -p | grep 119108

So the smpatch analyze was successful. But it didn't find any patches applicable to your system. Please execute this command and then do another "Check for Updates"/usr/bin/updatemanager -debugthanksDave

It's now successful every time. I don't know where/when it started working but it was definitely after I'd run smpatch update from the command line. Thanks!Doug

Check that the patchsource is set correctly and if unsure reset it to the default (ie. connect to Sun for the patches) by running the following command - # smpatch unset patchpro.patch.source

still getting the same error when i run "updatemanager"i also have a solaris 10 installation (without zones) and updatemanager is running just fine

Make sure that you are trying to run (and have installed) in the Global zone only.If you are still having issues after this I'd recommend raising a support case with Sun to have the issue further investigated.
