Hello. Did you enter your contract ID as the subscription key when you registered the system you are using to see the udpates? If you didn't, you still can do this by choosing 'Manage Subscription' under the File menu in Sun Update Manager. Once you make this change, there is a delay however, for the entitlement to flow through so you may not see the entitled patches for a day or so.
Hi,
I am not an expert on this subject, but I have been able to work around the same problem that you describe.
Assuming that you do not have any entitlement issues, meaning that you can run smaptch from the command line, you can get the proxy software as follows:
For SPARC:
smpatch update -i 119788-02
For x86:
smpatch update -i 119789-02
Then, follow the directions found at:
http://docs.sun.com/source/835-0615/ConfiguringProxy.html
I hope this helps. I have been able to get the patch proxy to work on Solaris 10 x86 using this method.
Regards,
Sean

my patch proxy is registered and it didn't show up in an smpatch analyze. I downloaded the patch as described above, stopped patchsvr, applied it, and started patchsvr
all worked fine. One nice benefit, after applying the patch we can use the Solaris 10 proxy to get Solaris 8 and 9 patches via smpatch. The new docs are updated. Nice to not have to register proxy clients that only do internal smpatch work either.
