Solaris 10 vs OpenVMS 7.2+

My company develops applications for insurance companies (mainly on OpenVMS - Alpha) and my boss wants me to compare Solaris 10 to OpenVMS 7.2+. What compilers are available for Solaris (besides GCC)?

I'm not sure where to begin and I'd appreciate any pointers in the right direction.

TIA :)

Sun offers a supported C/C++/Fortran compiler suite:

(I used The Portland Group compilers for Solaris in my HPC days, but they now appear to focus on Linux on x86 and Itanium.)

A Java compiler is included with Solaris.
