Problem with Solaris 10 ISO image

I downloaded the Solaris images and tried to burn them to CD's using Blindwrite on Windows XP.

First of all, the built-in image verification utility of Blindwrite, could not detect the filesystem in the ISO image "sol-10-b72-x86-v1.iso".

Since Blindwrite suggested that any writing mode will be ok, I used DAO-Pw mode to write the image on a CD and tried to test it.

When I tried to boot from there I got the message: "pboot: cannot find bootblk".

I've made a second attempt by reducing the write speed to 4x and again I got the same problem.

Any suggestions how to succesfuly write the CD image on a CD? Thanks!

I used Ahead Nero Burning-ROM 6.6 on Windows XP, worked fine.I think you can download an evaluation copy of the software from their homepage. http://www.ahead.de or something.

If you have XP you can just use the ISO Recorder Powertoy which is free. http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm

Hello Tom,just follow the description on the Download page http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/solaris-express/express_singleinstructions. htmlOne last hint, use a lower writing speed e.g. 8x. Michael

Are you sure they're coasters? - I used Nero to burn my DVD I get loads of noise in the form of errors about a bad block. But then it goes ahead and works (once all the errors have scrolled past)

I'd recommend burnatonce. It's small, easy to use, and I've used it for literally hundreds of ISOs (including dozens of Solaris CDs) with no problems. http://www.burnatonce.com/
