s10_69 release
I ditched my perfectly running 5.9 system (actually formatted it after backing up user data) for s10_69 because I thought that was the final release.I'm having tons of problems with it. I'm wondering why Solaris 10 is advertised on the Sun product page (with a link to the download) if it's not out yet. Nowhere on the download page does it say that it's a beta. Does anyone know when the actual release will be available for download? I can hardly wait.
TIA :)

I have found an article on the web where they said that First 2005 quarter is the date of Solaris 10 release.
Like you, i havn't found on the sun site some information of the state of the Sol 10_69 version but it seems something miss (like ZFS, ....) like an another beta version .
Regards.

According to latest info I have, it will be end Jan 05.
Hopefully it will have all anounced features working, but more often I see that expansion of features will be implemented via updates (after jan 05)
In general, status info of a build can be found in:
What's new in Beta n.. and Release notes. both from docs.sun.com
btw: if you read through the Express Software, you must find that it is 'early release' sofware.

ZFS is scheduled as far as I know, to be released in next release of solaris 10, around summertime, I guess it's called Solaris 10 06/05 ? The first release (not FCS) 03/05 is the first official release.

Just a FYI that the release available from
http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/get.jsp
is the official Solaris 10 release. Earlier versions were builds
of "Software Express for Solaris" and represented various Beta
releases. Apologies for it not being clear that these were not
the final release.
Can you please summarize the issues you were having?
