Ultra 10 serial connection problem

Hi guys,

I've got an Ultra 10 that is functional and I can connect to it over the network. However I am trying to connect to Serial Port A and it's not happening.

I've done the following:

eeprom output-device=ttya

eeprom input-device=ttya

and I am using connectors 530-2889-03 on the Ultra 10 side and 530-3100-01 connected to my laptop's serial port, I am not sure if I got the right connectors. I've also changed /etc/remote to point to ttya , but to no avail.

thanks for your help

yeah, I'm using a regular straight-through cable which is supposed to become a crossover with the connectors described above. I'm using sercure CRT on my laptop, so I'm not running "tip".

Hi,You have 2 null modem adapters, so you're uncrossing your crossover. Follow earlier posters advice, get a null modem cable, you should be fine then.
