file copy without overwrite

I need to write a script that will copy files from one folder into another folder without overwriting any existing files. The main reason for this is the large number of files that need to be copied (50,000 + at times). I am running solaris 8 and 9 on 2500's and some x86 machines.

ASAP if possible

Thanks,

David

Sorry, David.

Far, far outside and beyond the scope of this forum.

It's a Solaris question.

It's a **nix question.

It does not happen to be a hardware question.

As you've noted, it is an issue that's independant of the hardware platform.

Consider finding a forum over <a href="http&#58;&#47;&#47;forum.sun.com/index.jspa" target="_blank"><u>HERE</u></a>, in the Developers' Network (SDN) of forums.

Perhaps the Solaris 9 Forum or the Talk-to-the-Sysop Forum.

David has reproduced the question into the Solaris 9 forum on the SDN site: <a href="http&#58;&#47;&#47;forum.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=28759" target="_blank"> http://forum.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=28759</a>
