Solaris 10: could not create disk label (VTOC)

Triying to install solaris 10 on ultra 5:Error: Could not create solaris disk label (VTOC).... System installation failed.disk: seagate barracuda ata II 20 GBcan I fix it via software or it will be a hardware problem?Stefano

Your Ultra 5 is not standing on it's side , is it?
I've had so many problems trying to install Solaris on a few machines that were.
Once put in their normal position (horizontal) everything went fine.
Apparently these older CD-ROMs can't work while being vertical.
I know it sounds silly - but it worked for me.
