Hello Bob,
Is it possible to upgrade a AXI motherboard with a 200 or 300 MHz processor to a 400MHz processor?
If you are talking about a SPARCengine Ultra AXi systemboard, sort of. There is no 200MHz US IIi module.
The board supports 270 (501-5039), 300 (501-5040), 333(501-5090), 360(501-5222 2MB Cache, 501-5148 256KB Cache) and 440 MHz (501-5149) UltraSPARC IIi modules.
The 400 MHz module is not listed for this board (but for the Ultra 5/10).
The faster cpu modules ( >=360 MHz) require a hold-down assembly with a fan.
The latest OBP 3.10.13 is available from SunSolve as patch 116753-01 (earlier versions required a now unavailable registration with Sun Microelectronics).
The OEM Technical Manual is still available for download on the following page.

These forums are only User-To-User. If you expect an official statement from Sun, you have to contact them.
They can tell you if spare parts for the SPARCengine Ultra AXi are still available. I'm sure that the upgrade kit isn't available anymore.
Please keep in mind that these boards went EOL 3-4 years ago. This board was released in 1998/1999. There have been OBP updates till 2001 (the last one in 2004 was a surprise).

Hello Terry,
how did you find this thread (browsed these forums, searched the internet) ?
Why do you need the manual (just to have it, to fix a problem, integrate the board into a system) ?
The link to the OEM manual no longer works. Any idea what the new link is or how to get a copy?
Yes, the link is outdated and therefore this document is not "just a click away". The thread was last updated between September 2005 and March 2006.
