Installing Second Seagate ST336605LC harddrive on Ultra 60

Hi,

I saw that Seagate ST336605LC with SCSILC320 interface works for Ultra60. http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub/Systems/U60/components. html#Disks

May I know how do I change the jumper and install the harddrive physically and what do I do after booting up? I have Solaris 9 installed now. I only have on harddrive install now.

Thanks.

The Sun Microsystems documentation site, Docs.Sun.Com has a couple of manuals specifically for that system:

http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/coll/181.5

Chapter 9 of the service manual discusses adding/removing internal disks.

Please keep in mind that just because the physical interface is a SCA2 shape does not mean you're going to see any performance greater that what is designed into the computer -- 40Mbps SCSI-3 .

You will simply gain more storage capacity without adding an external peripheral.
