I'll bite.

Since you mentioned that the normal function of the system seems to have stopped working, have you powered it down, then tried to boot it back up?

Is there a Sun keyboard and mouse directly connected?

No keyboard == no output to a monitor.

Next, if the VSIMMs have failed, the onboard video circuitry stops working. That would mean shutting down and repairing/replacing components.

Can you ping the SS20?

Can you telnet to the SS20?

If you can connect via telnet, then go in and review the system logs.

If the SS20 is not reachable by telnet then shut it down and use the information in the top two sticky posts in this Workstation Forum to establish a connection from another computer. Then your investigation can begin.

If you cannot connect via telnet, then it may not be fully booted to multiuser mode. (Probably waiting for some maintenance, such as having a filesystem repaired.)

The keyboard lights 'seem' to be showing you normal function, so I think it is passing the very first part of POST.

Unless you can establish a TIP connection as described in those sticky posts, you will never be able to investigate any deeper. That sort of a connection will let you see the boot process on the screen of another computer. If you have never done this, then it is time that you taught yourself. It is a standard diagnosis method.
