NIS+ Install problem.

I'm trying to setup a NIS+ master, but after I run nisserver on my Ultra60, running Solaris 8, telnet, ftp, and other protocols stop working. Does anyone have an idea why this would happen? Thank you in advance for any help.

It's probably your /etc/nsswitch.conf file. I guess it already got changed to the NIS+ settings, even though you haven't filled your tables yet. Thus, stuff stops working properly :)
Check the contents of the file and if any of the parameters point to "nisplus", make a backup copy of the file and copy "nsswitch.dns" over "nsswitch.conf".
