Preventing new Sun Ray sessions without killing old ones

Hi

Is there a way to prevent new sessions from being started on a Sun Ray Server (3.1) without killing existing sessions? The server is in a failover group.

The only thing I could find in the documentation was "utadm -f", but the docs seem to be contradicting themselves. The Admin guide says "...old sessions continue to exist..." but the Reference manual says "Existing sessions will be killed". So which is it?

Under 3.0, the utadm -f would just prevent the system from picking up new sessions; current ones would be unmolested.

Should be the same; easy enough to test it by coming in early in the morning when there are no users or just a couple. Give them warning, then run the command. Shouldn't affect them, but let them know you're about to do it.
