Error Message i getting while booting my Sun Ultra 4500 Enterprise M/C

Hi Guys,

When i start my Sun 4500 enterprise M/C i see a error message which reads like this,

Auto Negotiation Timeout

Check Cable or Contact System Administrator

Link Down

Network Link Setup failed

Please Check Cable and try again

Setting up Network Link and Speed

Using onboard Transciever-timeout

Waiting for Auto Negotiation status to be updated

Timeout reading link status. Check cable and try again

Time out waiting for Auto Negotiation status to

be updated

Waiting for Auto Negotiation status to be updated

Timeout reading link status. Check cable and try

again

Time out waiting for Auto Negotiation status to

be updated

Auto Negotiation Timeout

and my keyboard does not work. does anybody has a solution to this problem. Waiting for ur replies.

Are you trying to boot from the network? If so, the error message suggests that the cable or interface isn't working.

Otherwise, check the keyswitch. In the "secure" position it will disable the keyboard.

If the keyswitch is in the "diag" position, or if "diag-switch?" is true in the eeprom, then it will boot from the "diag-device" instead of the "boot-device".

Thanks for ur suggestion , I have checked out all the cables as mentioned in the manual and got the fix.
