/usr/lib/netsvc/yp/ypstart not found

Hi all,

Currently, I am experiencing a NIS problem. When I try to start /usr/lib/netsvc/yp/ypstart, the system warns that there is no such file or directory.

I have tried to boot -s and done some maintenance such a rm /etc/defaultdomain and then move to level 3 to re-create /etc/defaultdomain and restart relevant processes but it is useless

The ws plays a role as NIS client and ypbind could not start due to some unknown reasons.

Could u help me with this shit ? Thanks a lot

Is the /usr/lib/netsvc/yp/ypstart file actually present on the system? Also check if SUNWnisu package is installed and is not corrupted (use pkgchk to verify the consistency of the package).

I have checked the SUNWnisu and found it on the system. One strange thing is that i can issue the

/usr/lib/netsvc/yp/ypbind command but others. Maybe, the roothers ones have been corrputed.

Acctually, the quickest solution is that boot net -install to jumpstart the ws again but i just want to know why the system is broken down to prevent the errors.
