IDPROM contents invalid question

I have a V250, brand new and was working fine until

we moved it. Now it gets to ok> and says

"Invalid IDPROM contents", it waits a minute and

shutsdown. Even if I boot -s, it still shutsdown

during boot.

I had a SCSI PCI card from an Ultra 5 installed and I guess

it wasn't compatible. Could the SCSI PCI card hose

my IDPROM?

I also tried the following:

ok> 0 0 mkp

but I get: ok> mkp?

do I need a password to alter the IDRPM?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

OBP 4.x no longer contains mkp command. You cannot re- program via "squirrel special". Sounds like you need a new system board. HostID and MAC are kept on SCC so identity will be preserved. Does set-defaults get you anywhere?

Unfortunately, I have a new V250 that has experienced the same error message. 揈RROR: IDPROM is Invalid?br>A simple power outage was the cause of this condition.Anyone have a suggested fix?

If you have 2 V250s you could bring the 2nd one down, borrow it's SCC and put it into this unit while putting the card from this unit into the borrorwed machine and doing boot -s on both. This will tell you if the problem is in the Card Reader or the Card. Expect a full boot to fail if software licenses are involved since hostid's will be different.
