Can't stat device ......

Greetings

I recently had a problem on a Sun 440. There are 4 72 G drive 2 of which are stripped to create a metadevice d0. This config has been working for months. 2 days ago the machine crashed and now I get an error when the system comes up that the file system /dev/md/rdsk/d0 has an issue and to run fsck. I do this and it returns an error Can't stat /device /dev/md/rdsk/d0. I looked on Sun's site and Yahoo and can't find anything. I do a format and all the drives are viewable, I open metatool and I see the device and there are no errors. Ideas?

Thanks

Do iostat -En and check whether there are any hardware errors.Do metastat and see whether you can see the striped device.

Also, before doing an fsck, make sure that you have not mounted the file system

Well I did a few other things including the iostat and the metastat. I did not see any issues. What I did was rebuild the stripe as d1 and everything works fine. I have no idea why this happened. Thanks for all the help.

May be some one removed links in /dev/rdsk ? or it is a bug.
