iostat metadevice reporting

When iostat reports data on 'metadevices' (on my machine, iostat labels them md1, ..., md5), is it reporting on activity on the disk controllers or on file systems? I presume it's controllers.Second, is it possible to get stats on file system latencies? Thanks

Maybe this is what you are looking for. This shows statistics on:

physical disks

SDS meta devices

(and my NFS mount points)

Latency is the wsvc_t and asvc_t columns. Read the man page for definition of these columns.
