login names length limitation

Hi,

I would like to know if is there any improvement, software or bypass to get working login names thatexceed 8 characters.

This is because we are using Windows login names (more than eight characters), Single Sign On, and among others, Rational Clearcase can't stand with this configuration.

Best regards

Fabien

What's not working for you? Although such login names are not supported, virtually everything in the system will accept them.

Because of the interactions and dependencies between lots of different programs, I don't see that such names will be "supported" any time soon. But also things that break under them will probably be treated as a bug and fixed.

What type of Single Sign on? For Clearcase, you'd need to talk to them. That sounds like an app issue.
