LDAP Client for Solaris 2.6

Hi everybody,

I've been looking for information on how to set up an LDAP client for Solaris 2.6 but came up empty. I currently have SunOne Directory Server 5.2 installed on Solaris 9 and able to get Solaris 9 clients to authenticate with it. Due to the nature of our environment, the clients has to stay Solaris 2.6. Has anybody successfully setup an LDAP client on Solaris 2.6?

thanks,

Pete

I believe SUN did not and will not provide LDAP v2 patch for Solaris2.6 to setup ldapclient as this OS is just too old.

It does provide LDAPv2 patch for Solaris8.

So the workaround is to upgrade to Solaris8, then apply LDAP patches.

Yes, I'm aware of that, but upgrading the OS is not an option for me. I have a department of 100 users that use our proprietary application that only works on Solaris 2.6. I was looking for another way to do it. I was hoping someobody has experience using pam ldap for authentication.
