Reverse DNS entries for MX records

Solaris 9 Bind 8.3.3 Question

I am getting an error on my DNS server.

I go to www.dnsstuff.com, run a dns report on fordworktrucks.com

This is the only domain I can play with.

ERROR: None of your mail server(s) seem to have reverse DNS (PTR) entries (I didn't get any responses for them). RFC1912 2.1 says you should have a reverse DNS for all your mail servers.

Where do I start to fix this problem?

I have created reverse files for localhost and the ipaddress block.

Lost.

If, as for most of us, you have a block of IP addresses allocated from your ISP, THEY remain 'Authoritative' for that inaddr.arpa block. Some (but not all) allow you to change these reverse (PTR) records by sending them an email and telling them exactly what you need. Covad (my ISP) does this. If you look up 67.100.166.179, you will see the name of MY machine in the record. Some ISPs do not have this flexibility, :-(
