Hi,
I wnat to use the ILOM to access the console
of our X4100 machines. All parts of the ILOM
are working, but the redirection will not start.
Only a message is displayed,
"The remote console application requires Java 5.0."
I have installed JAVA 5, the browser plugin is correct
and on the command line also java 5 is found.
So what's wrong ?
What can I do ?
system suse 10, java 1.5.06 JRE, firefox 1.5

you might try downloading ..
<SP IP>/cgi-bin/jnlpgenerator-8
or
<SP IP>/cgi-bin/jnlpgenerator-16
to your local disk and somehow start it from the cmd line.
(see the contents of the page <SP IP>/iPages/i_redopt.asp).
this is all "Java Web Start Launcher" stuff ..

Do not let the forum date confuse you.
On March 30, 2006, mulitple forum web sites that Sun hosted
were merged into this already-existing group of forums.
The Hardware Forums and the Storage Forum were among those that were brought over.
All threads inside them were given a 30-MAR-06 text date.
They included discussions from September 2005 through March 2006.
Any thread that was older than September 2005 was summarily erased and lost.
Note how the name of the original poster in this thread appears?
Note how the text of that person's name is different from yours and mine?
That person has never registered with the new forum and may have
never even glanced in them since posting the initial question.
