Interchange drives between 3510's?

Hi, is it possible to take drives that were formatted and raided on one 3510 and use them on another 3510? Is there any more information I need to give to answer this question? Thank you in advance.

P.S. sorry if I didn't do a search on the forum first, I truly need a fast response, I'll search right after I post this. Once again, thank you.

The short answer is, Yes. The next question is why are you doing this? Do you have a more critical lun that you need to provide a replacement disk for that you are willing to take a disk that belongs to another logical drive from another 3510 array?

Note: When you pull out that disk from an existing arary belonging to a logical drive and insert it to your other 3510 array, it will be marked logical drive="NONE" status="USED". If your goal is to replace a failed drive, you have to make sure that the "Periodic Auto-Detect Failure Drive Swap Check Time" is enabled for the rebuild of that logical drive to initiate. Otherwise, you will need to mark that drive as a spare for the rebuild to start.

Thank you very much for the reply and I apologize for taking so long to reply back to you. I didn't think anyone actually replied, sorry. What my intentions were, were to be able to take all 12 disks from one 3510 and use them on another 3510, in case the first 3510 either broke down (while everything was powered off) or in case I just wanted to get rid of that particular 3510 and use a different one. You get what I mean? I'm not just trying to move one or two disks to use as spares, but instead just trying to move the entire disk set from one 3510 to another. I think it might have something to do with just copying over the NVRAM settings but I do not know for sure. I would greatly appreciate your input. Also, if you are somewhat of a guru at this, if you didn't already see my other topic, I was wondering if you can connect two 3510's, each with 12 disks, one with data-filled disks, the other with empty disks, and replicate all the data from the first to the latter. Would you know how to do this also? Thank you very much.
