mirrored output from the XVR-100

Hello, I'm working with Solaris 9 on a RAVE workstation. We have the XVR-100 graphics accelerator.

What we'd like to do is have the second monitor mirror what's on the first monitor. Is this even possible with this graphics card?

The documentation for the XVR-100 does not give me hope..

There are three methods described in this section for video output from which to choose with the Sun XVR-100 graphics accelerator. This section lists the options:

* Single video output for full performance on a single screen (default)

* Two video outputs over one large frame buffer

* Two independent video outputs

Hi,

I recently asked the same question about the XVR-1200 card (also asked in a Solaris forum). As yet, I have not received any replies. If you get anywhere with this please let me know! I'm wondering whether I could use VNC to do this.

Cheers,

Ian

It's not looking good. The XVR-4000 seems like the only card that had the native capability to do what we wanted, but it's not being sold anymore.

I've been searching for another software solution and have yet to find one. There just doesn't seem to be a way to get one frame buffer to output from 2 ports.

We may have to wind up trying to find a hardware solution by splitting the signal coming out of the graphics card...
