The install process would begin, and about 10 seconds later it would error out.
You'd never complete the procedure. It wouldn't even begin to copy any files across.
Sol-8 does not have any of the necessary hardware compatibility in it.
This is no different than anyone else's current hardware.
Compare this to an attempt to install Apple's OS 7.x onto a G5 system.
T1000 handbook has not yet been released. Currently only Solaris 10 is supported, I would not say that it is possible to install Solaris 8 on the T series systems. When you boot the Solaris installation disk, it loads a mini Solaris kernel into memory, each release of Solaris has a hardware revision that supports variations in system hardware. The Tx000 is the latest SPARC platform and Solaris 8 2/02 ( for example ) would probably panic after boot. Whether or not Solaris 8 will have a release that will support the T series systems is currently a bit of a grey area, I've heard that some UNIX shops are having difficulty with various peripherals because HVs have not yet developed drivers and utilities for Solaris 10.
