Win 2003 Server on Sun W2100z ->bluescreen

I tried to install Windows 2003 Server on a Sun W2100z machine. But during install (mostly it is when setup says "starting windows")

I recieve a bluescreen:

stop: 0x0000007E (0xC000001D,0x8103EC0A,0xF792E984,0xF792E680)

As I thought that this can be a driver problem I made my own Win2003 CD with some AMD chipset drivers included. But a little problem is that the most chipset drivers only conatin .dll files and not the necessary .inf files. With the drivers I found the same bluescreen apears during the setup routine.

Does anyone have experienced the same problem, and how can I fix this?

P.S.: I also tried to install Win2000 but setup breaks with a bluescreen saying that the acpi.sys caused a problem.

Windows XP can be installed without any problem. And also Windows 2003 Server x64 can be installed, but most software we use do not have 64bit support, so that is no reason for us.

P.P.S.: I tried te suppliment cd 2.1 from sun for diagnostic, but it seems that there is no hardware error.

Hope someone can help

Hello Martin,

I don't think you will get any help on Windows 2003. These forums are for Sun hardware, that means SPARC. From time to time there are questions regarding hardware issues with these x86/x64 systems (W2100z, etc.) from Sun.

If you have a support contract for Windows 2003, you can indeed open a service case. But because of: I made my own Win2003 CD with some AMD chipset drivers included., I doubt that this is a supportable configuration.

Otherwise I would suggest that you try Microsoft forums.

Michael
