6 x 6800`s crashed at the same time
Hi, I am investigating a problem that we have just encountered, over the weekend we had 6 x Sun 6800 crash, nothing else was affected in the Data centre, has anyone had any experiences / problems with 6800 being less tolerant of environmental factors e.g power fluctuations, our facilities team have reported that there were no problems with the power at the time they all crashed (strange!!).
Thanks
Chas

The online user-to-user forums are offered for five specific areas.
Desktop Workstations
Peripherals such as disk multipaks and tape drives
Miscellaneous components such as adapter cards, monitors and cables
Workgroup servers (medium to small computers)
Storage configuration issues, when connected to a Sun system

The complexity of configuring and maintaining midframe systems is such that there should NOT be any postings for SunFire systems. There was never any intention of including those systems in these forums. This includes ANY questions on V1280's through SF25k's.
Despite the considerable skills of some who are interested enough to contribute to discussions here ...
If someone has an issue with a Sunfire system, contact Sun directly. You've paid much too much for that system ! The viability of your corporate enterprise may depend on its continuing functionality. Why not take advantage of the support that is just a phone call away ?

Search these Hardware forums, on keyword midrange. I've been advising everyone the same for as long as the forums have existed.

Additionally, I would not look to the servers in such a case, no matter what size! Sounds to me like you are experiencing issues with the circuit providing power to the servers.
