Remote Mirror - Sun StorEdge_ Availability Suite 3.1

Hi,

I'm evaluating Remote Mirror Software included in Sun StorEdge_ Availability Suite 3.1,

I have found some questions I may ask anybody that knows this product.

This software threats devices like raw devices or volomes SDS, VVM, SVM.

It needs to store data information changes in a Bitmap file stored in a dedicated partition.

Each origin and destination have their own bitmap file keeping track of changes, and compare them when

have to Mirror data.

I found that destination partition has to be unmounted in order to be replicated, and once it has been mounted it stops beeing mirroed.

What I dont really know is that supossing you want to replicate 2 or more devices (partitions),

do you have to create a Bitmap partition for each device (that's a large amount of partitions wasted for this purpose) ? Otherways can you store all bitmaps in the same partition ?

Thanks a lot,

Gerard.

Yes, a separate bitmap volume is required for each volume that will be replicated.Bevan..
