Disk-Suite: Need script to check the status and email

Does anyone have a good script for checking the status of disk-suite (ie metastat, metadb -i, metastat -s XXX)?

I run disk-suite or Sun Volume Manager on almost everything. I have found that occasionally, the disks end up in a "need maintenance" state.Veritas had a nice easy method to get email alerts for a disk problem by putting your email addy in /etc/rc2.d/SXXXvxWhatever.If disk-suite or Sun VM can do this that would be great. Otherwise I need a script that I can setup in cron.

The occasional "needs maintenance" issue has caused some big problems when the systems go through a monthly reboot and there is a disk problem that I am not aware of.

Thanks

Todd

I have tried to run this script as is, just to test the functionality. I have run into numerous shell complaints. I am running sh metachck & ksh metacheck and either one is complaining about syntax errors.Has anyone else tested this script?
