mirroring metadb
Hi,
I have just mirrored my boot disk using SDS, however i have just one question. Should I mirror the slice that holds the metadb?I currently set them up to run on two disks, but have mirrored that slice as well. I'm not sure If I needed to run this mirror, since the command placed them on both disks. Does it matter? It seemed to work.
Many thanks

You don't explicitly mirror the metadb slices.
All of the state database replicas are updated every time the configuration is modified, so the data is already in sync.
As long as you have multiple copies in the correct distribution on multiple disks, you're covered.
I don't think you can really mirror the slices anyway. You can put a concat/stripe metadevice on the slice, but it will always start past any existing replica. If you look at the 'metastat' output, it should show the offset. So the replicas won't be affected if you set up a mirror for the concat/stripe metadevice.
