Help about JNIHBA and StorEdge 6120

Dear guys,

After I inistalled the JNI 2 Gb PCI FC HBA in V880, and I have installed the StorEdge 6120, but, according to the installation guide, after I executed

ok apply show-children ******

I got nothing but

PortID LUN port WWN Device TYPE LUN description

I cannot see any information about the array.

The lights in the arrays seem very normal.

Where do I need to start to check? And check what?

Thanks a lot!

Best Regards

Are any luns mapped to the host? Are they masked correctly?

Hi,

I am not sure what you mean "LUN maps to the host", can you explain it clearly? I am almost a new for Solaris. Here is the sd.conf.

Thanks a lot!

Does the 6120 have luns created on it and are they accessible via lun masking to the host?
torreysun at 2007-7-5 18:04:48 > top of Java-index,Storage Forums,Storage General Discussion...

No.

Because after I enter the ok prompt, and then I use the command: show-devs, I can see the JNI HBA,

>ok show-devs

.......

/pci@9,600000/SUNW,jfca@1,1

/pci@9,600000/SUNW,jfca@1

........

but, then I use the ok> apply show-children /.......

I only can get:

>ok apply show-children /pci@9,600000/SUNW,jfca@1

PortIDLUN Port WWN -Device Type- -LUN Desc...

Only the head, no content for it.

thanks a lot.

You need to have luns created and accessible to the system.

How to create LUN for StorEdge 6120? I cannot find the suitable documentation to create LUNs on StorEdge 6120.

BTW, I cannot see any information from format coomand:

bash-2.05# format

After this, following the document, I should use the format command to display the paths to each LUN/slice on the host, but, I still cannot see anything about the array information on host.
