SunFIre 480r with StoreEdge 3310

Hi all,

I am using a SunFire with Solaris 9. It has connect with SCSI cable a StoreEdge 3310, JBOD

In Solaris I type init 0 and ok> "probe-scsi-all" and i can see 7 disks, 2 internal and 5 StoreEdge. but when I am in Solaris, I type "format" and I only see 2 disks internal. How I can to configure Solaris to use JBOD StorEdge?

Regards

Julio T.

If you are using X6758A, PN 375-3057 LVD HBA shown on :

http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub/Systems/3310/components.html#SCSI

Then you will have to download qus packages described in InfoDoc 47841:

http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-9-47841-1

Similar info can be found in PDF release notes for the LVD/SE controller:

Ok, thanks, I can see the disks with 揻ormat?command in solaris 9. But is this the only form to use StoreEdge, or can I define RAID or some kind arrays over StorEdge Disks? Where I find info about this?

You create the RAID volumes in the 3310. These volumes are then exported as LUNs to hosts. A host will see the RAID volume as a single SCSI LUN or disk.
