cfgadm can be secure used?

hi,all

i encountered a question:

in my env.,there are 2 v880 with 2 qlc2300 & cx600,i create a new lun and mapping to sun.on server side,i tape "devfsadm" but can not see new lun,i want to tape "cfgadm -c configure c2" for lun finding.but i am afraid that this action will interrupt the oracle app on the same controler.

anybody can tell me:

why can not see lun.

can run "cfgadm" securely on controler which sites on the same production system.
