Bad Block Encountered

This appeared when creating raid1 drive:

Bad Block Encountered(Ch:2,Id:0)

Block Reassignment Succeeded(Ch:2,Id:0). Infor

mational message. Drive may be failing.

Does this mean that the drive should be replaced or

is it ok to use it ?

Does the array detects bad blocks durind normal operation ?

Depens on how paranoid you are. Bad block re-assignement happens in most SCSI drives these days. If it happens once in a blue moon you should be ok. If you see it happen a few times then you may want to replace the drive.

If it is critical server then you may want to look at the grown bad blockslist and better replace the disk if they are too many.
