Sun FC HBA (QLogic) and Hp Secure Path

We are facing a problem with Sun branded single port FC HBAs (Qlogic 2310F).

We want to use HP Secure Path for multipathing with HP EVA 5000 SAN. FC HBA works fine with Sun qlc drivers and we are able to access the volumes on EVA5000.

But HP Secure Path application is not able to see the FC HBAs. We even tried QLogic drivers i.e QLA2300 but they failed to attach at bootup (as there is Sun's FCode on that)

Can anyone pls. tell any solution for that?

Have you configured the disks using cfgadm? Are they available from format?

Thanx for yoyr reply Yup we did cfgadm and all disks are visible through format using standard Sun qlc drivers. We even created some test volumes and copied some data. The problem we are facing is that HP Secure Path can't find FC HBAs

I would contact HP and find out how they discover the controllers. Maybe there's someone else out here who knows how secure path works?

i am facing the same problem with IBM SAN and IBM storage DS4300 connected to SUn v880r with 2 Qlogic HBAs

Hope sun i has to upgrade thwie firmware to match all the SANs;;; isuppose its with the OEM frimware from sun that is being shipped where the problem get solved when i used a generic qlogic QLA2342 card on the same server and same combination.

Are you tried to use mpxio instead of HP Secure Path to handle load-balancing & failover?, it works pretty well.
