A5200

Hi,

I have connected two A5200 on Sun V880 with 5.8. These are connected using Sun StorEdge 2G FC PCI Single channel network adapter. When ever I run luxadm command I am getting following messages in /var/adm/messages.

Sep 13 14:09:22 dyncdw qlc: [ID 686697 kern.info] NOTICE: Qlogic qlc(1): Loop OFFLINE

Sep 13 14:09:22 dyncdw qlc: [ID 686697 kern.info] NOTICE: Qlogic qlc(1): Loop ONLINE

Sep 13 14:10:15 dyncdw qlc: [ID 686697 kern.info] NOTICE: Qlogic qlc(1): Loop OFFLINE

Sep 13 14:10:15 dyncdw qlc: [ID 686697 kern.info] NOTICE: Qlogic qlc(1): Loop ONLINE

Is it normal or there is some kind of misconfiguration some where.

Replace your GBICs.This is generally an indication that one or more GBICs are starting to fail.It could obviously be a more serious condition that the array is failing or that a disk within the fibre loop is disrupting the loop, but start by replacing GBICs.

You have a few spares on hand like a good admin should, right?;)

Get StoradeInstall StoradeRun StoradeIt will help diagnose any issues....and I'd be surprised if it was GBICs after all this time. ;)
