Adding new disks to live system with A1000

Hello Guru's,

I will be adding eight seagate 73gb disks to my A1000's (Dual-host system connected to two E450).

This system is live and as such I do not have any downtime. Using Veritas VM 3.01

Question 1: Is it okay to hot plug in these new disks when I/O activity is taking place ?

Question 2: Will RM automatically pick up these unassigned disks ? Reading the documentation the only thing to do is #/etc/bin/raid/healthck -a to check these disks.

Question 3: What are the best practices for adding disks to live systems (Full backups will be done) ?

Thanks and regards,

LC

1. Yes, ytou can hot plug additional drives in A10002. Yes, they will be in unassigned state3. Full backup is always best practice before any activity on disks/LUNS
