L1000 Tape Library Problem !!!

I have a L1000 Library with 2 Nos. of DLT7000 installed on it. Both the drives are chained and connected on E3500 thru Fast Wide Diff SCSI HBA. The Drive 0 is working fine and the Drive 1 gives trouble, the below are the observations / options tried:

a) When the second drive (Drive 1) initializes, all the front panel LED's on the drive blinks for some time with some beeps and becomes ready.

b)Once it is ready, if we fire some backup, the following errors were logged and the backup gets aborted.

scsi: [ID 107833 kern.warning] WARNING: /sbus@2,0/QLGC,isp@2,1000/st@3,0(st3):

SCSI transport failed: reason 'incomplete': giving up

SCSI transport failed: reason 齯nexpected_bus_free? retrying command WARNING: /sbus@2,0/QLGC,isp@2,1000/st@3,0(st3):

c)The drive 1 was replaced and tried, the error repeated.

d)Removed the device files from the system, and recreated using devfsadm, but still the problem remains.

e)The scsi bus was terminated on drive 1 and tested, the problem persists.

f)At last the drive was swapped to the location of drive 0, the drive was found working ok.

can anyone pls. help in concluding this..

Thanks

Hi there,

I work for University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI USA. We have the same equipment like you to attached to Ultra Enterprise 450 server. The problem I meet is they lost the driver package software for L1000!!! I am very upset for this since I can not mount the L1000 and system can not recognize L1000. IF you can, can send me the L1000 drive package via email? My email is bzhao@umich.edu.

Thanks for your help.
